I’m now considering putting this in place here in the garage. If we could put the treadmill somewhere more sociable I’d try it there, but even with it in the garage this might work. As it stand now I get up about an hour before I leave for work. If I’m going to keep on schedule with my carpool buddies and their new “go in early to exercise” idea I’ll need to leave the house by 5:45. If I plan ahead at night and get everything set out, I could probably do some sort of “get up and walk and write” routine before I head to carpool that might keep both good habits going.

Plus, with more and more of my career requiring me to write for extensive periods of time, my level of “sedentary-ness” skyrocketed. But, that all ended a few weeks ago, when I set up my…

  1. Wow, that’s amazing–and funny. I see people at the gym doing all kinds of things while they’re on the stationary bike or the elliptical. From reading the newspaper to texting on their phone. No laptops so far, but I’ve thought about it.
